Finding Peace of Mind
Therapy can be a beautiful journey of healing, empowerment, and growth, but starting that journey can be difficult and takes a lot of courage. Therapy can be a space to pause and navigate life’s challenges with the support of another. As a therapist, I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is a key component to creating a safe, accepting environment from which you can heal and grow. I prioritize relief from the pain that has brought you to this moment by providing strategies to better manage your symptoms. I also believe that true healing comes from deeper reflection and understanding of our experiences and culture. Therapy can be a uniquely beautiful and life-changing process and I would feel honored to be a part of this healing journey with you.
My areas of specialized training and interest include relationships, identity development, emerging adulthood, parenting, mindfulness and trauma with a sub-specialty in childhood emotional, physical, and sexual abuse and neglect. I have researched and published many articles on complex trauma and its impact on the psychobiology, identity, and relationships of those who have experienced it.
I provide individual, couples, and group therapy, and consultation/supervision services.
Working Moms
Support Group
Feeling exhausted and perpetually behind? Most moms describe their experience of juggling parenting and a career in this way.
Women have long felt forced to choose between being a mother and having a career while the standard for success in both continues to rise everyday. Research shows that parents, and especially mothers, are somehow spending both more time working and more time taking care of their kids. This dedication to career and family feels simply impossible to balance. Leisure, self care, and quality interactions with others are often pushed aside.
This support group meets weekly and centers around the everyday stressors unique to the experience of raising humans while navigating a career. The group offers a space to explore the immense transformation involved in becoming a mother and how this identity shift has shaped relationships, career, and sense of self. The group provides a community where mothers balancing a career and parenting can build honest and meaningful connections.
