Finding Peace of Mind
Therapy can be a beautiful journey of healing, empowerment, and growth, but starting that journey can be difficult and takes a lot of courage. Therapy can be a space to pause and navigate life’s challenges with the support of another. As a therapist, I believe that building a strong therapeutic relationship is a key component to creating a safe, accepting environment from which you can heal and grow. I prioritize relief from the pain that has brought you to this moment by providing strategies to better manage your symptoms. I also believe that true healing comes from deeper reflection and understanding of our experiences and culture. Therapy can be a uniquely beautiful and life-changing process and I would feel honored to be a part of this healing journey with you.
My areas of specialized training and interest include relationships, identity development, emerging adulthood, parenting, mindfulness and trauma with a sub-specialty in childhood emotional, physical, and sexual abuse and neglect. I have researched and published many articles on complex trauma and its impact on the psychobiology, identity, and relationships of those who have experienced it.
I provide individual, couples, and group therapy, and consultation/supervision services.
Parent Wellness
Support Group
The surgeon general’s advisory on the mental health and well being of parents showed us that parents are not only more stressed, but also are spending more time working and more time taking care of their kids than previous generations. This results in significantly less time for leisure, self-care, and quality interactions with others.
Parent Wellness is a support group that meets weekly and centers around the everyday stressors that are unique to the experience of raising young humans in this world. The group offers a space for members to explore the immense transformation that is involved in becoming a parent and the ways this identity shift has shaped their relationships, career, and sense of self. The group is also designed to provide a sense of community and support around one of life’s most challenging endeavors. This group is meant to promote the wellness of the parent not focus on the how-to’s of parenting itself.
